TVS Launches Orbiter Electric Scooter with 158 km Range and Segment-First Features in India

TVS Motor Company has launched its latest electric scooter, the TVS Orbiter, packed with segment-first features, in India.

Powered by a 3.1 kWh battery, the Orbiter offers an IDC range of 158 km on a single charge, positioning it as a competitive choice in the growing EV scooter segment.

The Orbiter stands out with a 14-inch front wheel for added stability, alongside cruise control, hill hold assist, regenerative braking, and a spacious 34-litre boot capable of accommodating two helmets. Riders can choose between Eco and City ride modes to optimize performance or efficiency, depending on their commuting needs.

The Orbiter offers several connectivity and smart technology features. A connected smartphone app enables turn-by-turn navigation, geo-fencing, time fencing, crash/fall alerts, anti-theft notifications, and OTA (over-the-air) software updates. The colored LCD instrument cluster also displays calls, messages, and personalized alerts for a seamless riding experience.

Designed with rider comfort in mind, the scooter features an 845 mm long flatform seat, upright handlebars, and a straight-line footboard. Safety and usability are enhanced with LED lighting, emergency notifications, live tracking, towing alerts, and a robust 169 mm ground clearance. Braking is managed via drum brakes on both ends, while the lightweight 112 kg kerb weight ensures easy maneuverability, including in tight parking spaces.
